Today we are going to change the cable motor stop on a Briggs and Stratton 093j02 engine for a Viking MB 253.1 T Lawnmower. Firstly remove the top cover using an 8mm socket. You want to stop the brake from moving, use an appropriate tool to stop this from working. Disconnect the cable from the switch lever, the cable should now be slack. Go back to the brake and unhook the cable, and release by pinching the clip. Then release the bracket holding the cables in place using a flat screwdriver (please be careful) Release the cable from the bracket. Thread the new motor stop cable into the bracket until it clips into place. Connect both cables to the switch levers, the motor stop being the back lever. Reattach the bracket to get the correct height. Thread through the cable. Hook the end of the motor stop cable into the smaller hole and then connect the clip into the second hole. Remove the tool stopping the brake and test the lever. Then replace the cover and secure. That's how you change the Cable motor stop on a Briggs and Stratton engine for the Viking Lawn Mower.
