Today we're going to change the Pulley on a Yanmar L48N Engine. First, we need to remove the front of the engine. To do this loosen the four 10mm bolts at the front of the engine with a 10mm spanner. Once loosened, return to completely remove them from the machine. Shock the nut at the front of the starter pulley by using a Spanner to secure it, then loosen it with a hammer by hitting the spanner. Now, completely remove the bolt. Using a 10mm spanner, remove the three 10mm bolts which hold the pulley in place. Start by loosening the bolts, then you can return to completely remove them from the engine. This will then free the pulley. Check the part for any damage or wear, as the pulley can get worn over time. Get one screw inside the pulley and line it up with the hole on the flywheel, using a 10mm spanner to screw into position on the machine. Once in place, continue to fix in the next two screws. Make sure to tighten the screw, ensuring there is no movement in the pulley. It's important that these are tight as it could potentially damage the machine if they become loose. As a tip, prop the machine up so it's leaning back. This will make it easier to fix the front of the engine back into place. Place the cover back into position, making sure it's seated correctly. Using a 10mm spanner, screw the four screws into the front of the engine. Finally once in place, return to tighten so it's secure. That's how you change a the pulley on a Yanmar L48N Engine.
