How to Find Your Serial Number on Wacker Neuson Machines
What is a Serial Number?
A serial number is a distinct identification code given to each machine by the manufacturer. This unique number enables precise tracking of the individual unit, making it essential for various purposes such as warranty claims, inventory control, and determining the required parts for repairs.
Prior to 2012, Wacker Neuson machines had a 7/8 digit serial number.
From 2012, Wacker Neuson introduced a 17-digit serial number, which contained more information for easier machine identification.
- Manufacturer Code: Identifies the manufacturer and country of origin.
- Machine Model: Specifies the type of equipment.
- Internal Model Designation: A code representing the specific model.
- Check Letter: Used for verification purposes.
- Production Site: Indicates the specific production facility.
- Serial Number: A unique identifier for the individual unit.
Where can the Serial Number be found?
Below are the common locations for the serial numbers across different equipment models:
Dumpers (DW, DV, etc.)
- Stamped on the rear of the vehicle or the main chassis frame near the driver’s seat.
- The type label is located on the right side of the vehicle frame.
Excavators (ET, EZ, EW)
- Located on the chassis frame, typically near the operator's cabin or engine compartment.
- It is also located on the type label, affixed to the superstructure.
Loaders (WL, TH, SM)
- Usually stamped on the rear chassis or engine bay area.
- The type label is attached to the front right of the vehicle frame.
Vibratory Plates (WP, WPU, BPU, DPU)
- Positioned on the side of the frame near the engine.
Rammers (BS, DS)
- Typically found on the upper handlebar area or the engine casing.
Generators & Light Towers
- The serial number is generally found on the side of the frame near the control panel.
