Today we're going to change the Muffler on a Briggs and Stratton 9T502 Engine in a M40-450C McCulloch Lawn Mower. First, remove the muffler guard to access the muffler using a socket spanner. Bend the plates using a screwdriver to access the two screws. When you have done this use an imperial 7/16 socket spanner to unscrew the two screws to release the lock and the muffler. Make sure you also remove the gasket that sits behind the muffler. Place the new gasket on the new muffler. Now, place the muffler back into position. Then, place the lock back and hold it in place with the screws. Tighten the screws with a 7/16 socket spanner. Now bend the lock so the screws are secure. Place the guard back over the muffler and secure the screw with a socket spanner. That's how you change the Muffler on a Briggs and Stratton 9T502 Engine.
