Description
Genuine RS Pro Polyolefin Heat Shrink Tubing 3:1 (Reels)
by RS Components.
The reels of RS Pro polyolefin heat shrink tubing are flexible, tough and has good resistance to common fluids and solvents. The flame retardant 3:1 shrink ratio means that the tubing shrinks to a third of its original size.
Features and Benefits
• Low shrink temperature • Excellent physical and electrical performance
• Good chemical and solvent resistance
• High dielectric strength
• Many colours and sleeve diameters available
• UL standard meaning that product samples have passed the safety requirements set by the safety and certification company, Underwriters Laboratories
Typical Applications
Electrical insulation Strain relief
Identifying wires, cables, pipes or electronic components
Placing over broom handles
How to use heat shrink tubing
1. Measure the diameter of your wire or cable. 2. Choose a piece of heat shrink that is large enough to slide onto the wire or cable but will give a snug fit once it has been heated.
3. Measure the length of tubing that you need making sure that you give yourself enough to cover the area after heating. Cut to required length.
4. Slide the tubing over the product you want to cover or protect.
5. Use a heat gun to heat the tubing. Continue to heat until it is tight around the wire or other product.
