This part on my 211 chainsaw keeps flicking out of the socket. Will this cause starting problems as the only way I can get the saw to start is by holding the throttle down while pulling the chord, please could you let me know?

It could be the lever for your throttle has worn. If you are holding down the throttle when starting it could flood your carb so you may have to change the throttle.
